What type of Yoga Classes do you offer?
Our morning class is a Vinyasa Flow Class. A dynamic flow yoga class, linking poses together with focus on breath, alignment, balance and core strengthening. This class detoxifies and exhilirates the body, calms the mind and enlivens the spirit. The sunset class is typically a Yin or Restorative class. Yin is a resorative practice and a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lenghtening and contracting of muscles.
Do I have to be a good swimmer?
Naturally, surfing happens in the ocean a short distance from the shore. For a positive surf experience, we require that our guests be in relatively good physical condition, competent swimmers and comfortable in the ocean. We don’t recommend these retreats for people with, major health problems, existing injuries, who take medication that would restrict swimming, breathing, or impair good judgment or women who are pregnant. Each guest is required to assess her own abilities and conditions when deciding to join the retreat.
I have never been surfing. Is this a surf destination for beginners?
Yes. The main break in La Lancha is a gentle rolling wave that is perfect for beginners. We have designed a program to teach you how to surf in a fun, welcoming environment.
I have surfed for a few years, would this retreat be for me?
Yes. Our retreat is for all level of surfers. Punta Mita has a number of different types of breaks. The area offers a wide variety of surf breaks, depending on your surfing goals and ability, we will make sure your needs are met.
I’m going by myself. Is that o.k.?
Absolutely. A lot of the people that come to the retreat travel solo. We will work with you to pair you with a room mate, you can occupy one of the beds in the bunk room or you can choose to occupy one of the rooms by yourself.
Can I bring my own surfboard?
Yes! Or we can hook you up with one of ours. We have a variety of high quality shortboards, longboards, soft top boards and stand up paddle boards.
